Join St. Margaret of Scotland Pilgrimages for a journey through Italy inspired by three extraordinary witnesses of faith: St. Carlo Acutis, St. Padre Pio, and St. Michael the Archangel.

This pilgrimage will take you from the heart of the Catholic Church in Rome, to the peaceful streets of Assisi, the beloved sanctuary of Padre Pio in San Giovanni Rotondo, and the ancient Shrine of St. Michael at Monte Sant’Angelo.

Along the way, you’ll encounter the Catholic faith through sacred places, prayer, the Eucharist, and the lives of the saints who remind us that holiness is possible in every generation.

In Rome, you’ll experience the beauty and history of the universal Church, visit the Vatican, pray at the tombs of the Apostles, and walk through centuries of Catholic tradition.

In Assisi, you’ll encounter the spirituality of St. Francis and St. Clare and pray before the tomb of St. Carlo Acutis, whose simple and profound love for Jesus in the Eucharist continues to inspire Catholics around the world.

The journey continues to San Giovanni Rotondo, where you’ll walk in the footsteps of St. Padre Pio, visiting the places where he lived, prayed, celebrated Mass, heard confessions, and dedicated his life to bringing souls closer to God.

At Monte Sant’Angelo, you’ll visit the extraordinary Sanctuary of St. Michael the Archangel, a sacred destination that has welcomed pilgrims for more than fifteen centuries.

Throughout the pilgrimage, we’ll celebrate Mass, pray together, experience authentic Catholic community, and enjoy the beauty, history, culture, and traditions of Italy.

But Sainthood: Italy with the Saints is more than a journey through Italy. It is an invitation to return home renewed—to deepen your friendship with Christ, fall more deeply in love with the Catholic faith, and rediscover a truth the saints understood so well:

We are all called to holiness.

They walked before us. Now it is our turn to follow.

DAY-BY-DAY ITINERARY

DAY 1 — Sunday, September 26 | Departure from the USA
Theme: Called to Holiness

Depart from the United States on an overnight flight to Rome. Our pilgrimage begins with hearts open to the grace, beauty, and spiritual encounters that await us in Italy.

Overnight flight to Rome.

Early departure for Vatican City to attend the Papal General Audience, subject to the Holy Father’s schedule.

Afterward, we visit St. Peter’s Basilica, built over the tomb of St. Peter the Apostle, and have time for prayer in the spiritual heart of the Catholic Church.

We continue with a guided visit to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel, encountering centuries of Christian art and history.

Evening at leisure or dinner with the group.

DAY 8 — Sunday, October 3 | San Giovanni Rotondo → Rome | Major Basilicas
Theme: Sent Forth in Faith

After an early breakfast, we depart San Giovanni Rotondo and return to the Eternal City.

Upon arrival in Rome, we continue our pilgrimage through two of Christianity’s most important churches:

Archbasilica of St. John Lateran — the Cathedral of Rome and the mother church of the Catholic world.

Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls — built over the tomb of St. Paul the Apostle.

We conclude our final evening together with a special Farewell Dinner in Rome, sharing memories and reflecting on the graces received throughout our pilgrimage.
